The Panhandle Butterfly House Life Cycle
The Beginning
Founded by butterfly and nature enthusiasts, Jack and Fonda Weatherell, The Panhandle Butterfly House has realized tremendous growth since its early days in 1997.
What started in the Wetherell’s backyard in Navarre, Florida quickly grew to be an exciting attraction for the Florida Panhandle.Located in the coastal area for nearly 21 years, The Panhandle Butterfly House welcomed visitors to the center and encouraged them to learn more about their butterflies and the plants that provide nutrients to the butterflies.
From the beginning, the mission of The Panhandle Butterfly House was to increase the public’s awareness of butterflies and the important role they play in the environment through its volunteers’ enthusiasms, educational resources, and an interactive exhibit.
